Triglyceride & Remnant Cholesterol (Part 1) - Why We Get Fat - FORD BREWER MD MPH

Episode Summary

Remnant cholesterol, triglycerides, and getting fat—what do these have to do with each other? Insulin resistance. As we get insulin resistant, our basal insulin rate continues to climb. Insulin stops us from burning not only glucose but also triglycerides. Hence, it increases fat deposits, which is why we get fat. It also increases triglyceride HDL ratio and remnant cholesterol.
