It's called Relative Fat Mass (RFM). It avoids the systematic errors of Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI typically underestimates fat percentage in women and overestimates it in men. The RFM uses only waist circumference and height. It works for all ethnicities. The model was developed using publicly available data from the National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The research included the definitive body fat measurement device- DEXA, or Dual Energy Xray Absorptiometry.
