The JUPITER trial was the original randomized clinical trial showing that statins prevent heart attack in patients with low cholesterol, but high cv inflammation. Paul Ridker was the Principle Investigator. It was published in 2008 in the New England Journal of Medicine. It should have resulted in a change in the standards of prevention of heart attack & stroke. But it didn't. Why? This is a review of the study.
