Sarcopenia is muscle wasting, by the way. Even though we think of this as simply, "a thin, little old man - or lady". This is actually very dangerous. Medicare rates it as one of the biggest predictors of hospitalization, disability & death. Things to think about including more than just a low BMI (less than 19). They also include loss of weight(without intentional dieting) 5% within a month, or 3% in a week. The doc should check pre-albumin, not albumin.
