Dr. Rhonda Patrick did a series on saunas & heat shock proteins. That was triggered by a 2015 article on saunas & cardiovascular health. I'd not heard of these proteins before. They seem to be ubiquitous. And they have critical roles as "chaperones" of other proteins. In addition to heat shock, these (and related proteins)are also stimulated by cold, UV light, and other cell stressors. Here's the 2015 article that stimulated a lot of this discussion. If the dose/response curve were correct, saunas would appear more important than exercise, weight loss & statins. I doubt that's the case. But I do think there's something there. We cover that in other videos: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2130724 Wikipedia has an excellent article covering heat shock proteins: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_shock_protein#Cardiovascular
