John Lorscheider took Aged Garlic Extract (AGE) based on research he'd seen by Matthew Budoff. John said he got no significant impact on LP-PLA2 until he lost 20 pounds, cut his carbs, and started low-dose Rosuvastatin. This video reviews the article. It was small (65 total participants) and on intermediate-risk participants (male firefighters). He saw a decrease in hsCRP and a slowing of Coronary Artery Calcification (CAC). This combination in a randomized clinical trial could be a strong signal. But he also saw a drop in the BMI of the study group. I looked again at the study to see if there were randomization irregularities or a discussion of this potential confounder. I could not find anything. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3425023/ https://759241a66b89-003789.vbulletin.net/forum/supplement-questions-and-comments/493-chondroitin-sulfate-and-aged-garlic-extract-for-reducing-arterial-inflammation
